I was delighted to represent the Lord Mayor Oisín Quinn at the opening of the Ard Scoil Rís Arts and Crafts Exhibition on Saturday 5th April. It is the 30th such event in the history of the school and has been organised by the Parents Council each year. This is a great tribute to the energy and commitment of the Parents’ Council over all these years which is a very active organisation and much valued by parents.
The Art Exhibition is also an example of the positive role played by the school in the community – it is evidence of the outreach and participation undertaken by the school and the Parents’ Council who work with local artists to make the event possible.
Ard Scoil Rís has a very lively school community, made up of staff and students, along with a dynamic Student Council and a very active Parents’ Council. I applaud the ambition of the Parents’ Council to support the school and improve the educational facilities for their children.
